Vipassana Meditation

We live in an era of remarkable material development, which has produced numerous benefits. However it is clear that despite this progress, human problems have not ended. War, violence and oppression still remain, while at the individual level people continue to experience fear, anxiety, insecurity and other forms of dissatisfaction. This indicates that material development alone is not sufficient; there is an urgent need for a corresponding, inner, mental and spiritual development. An excellent means for achieving this is through meditation.

Vipassana Meditation, which is practiced and taught at Lotus Village, is a simple and direct way to develop our capacity to be present in each moment and to every experience in an open hearted and open minded way. Being present in this manner liberates us from the power of Greed, Hatred and Delusion as well as their by-products, which keep us in a constant state of neurosis and suffering.

In vipassana meditation, we learn to listen to our bodies, hearts and minds. We attain Wisdom, not by creating ideals but by learning to see clearly – things as they are.
